The technology will appear within the next five years.

On April 8, 2024, at the Web3 Festival in Hong Kong, the TON Society, representing the TON blockchain ecosystem, announced a collaboration with HumanCode, a developer of artificial intelligence solutions. The joint project aims to introduce biometric identification of users by palm prints in the Telegram messenger within the next five years.

The palm print identity verification technology is versatile and can work with any browser, camera, or skin tone, according to the developers. It is supposed to be used in operations such as cryptocurrency airdrop or transaction analysis, where verification of a person's identity is necessary to ensure confidentiality.

To encourage the introduction of biometric identification, TON Society will launch a reward program with a prize pool of 1 million Toncoin, equivalent to approximately 6 million US dollars. The funds will be distributed to TON ecosystem participants who have agreed to pass verification by scanning their palms.

You can join the program by connecting your TON wallet on the official website of the TON Society community.

In March, Telegram announced a new monetization program for channel owners. Content creators will now be able to earn 50% of their revenue from ads placed in their channels. The company also introduced a new ad format based on the TON blockchain.

Creators of such ads will get more flexible tools for managing their placement. According to Telegram, advertisers will be able to independently select target channels and the context of displaying advertising content.
