In Moscow, a woman paid a false witch over 280 thousand rubles under the pretext of removing a curse. This was reported by the capital's prosecutor's office on November 24.
It is specified that the attacker, posing as a tarot reader, met a 45-year-old woman on one of the Internet sites. The false sorceress convinced the Muscovite that she had been cursed and insisted on performing special rituals.
“The fortune teller did not accept refusals, threatening in every possible way with the inevitability of tragic consequences, sending photographs of cemeteries and coffins for psychological influence,” the department’s Telegram channel reported.
As a result, the woman transferred over 280 thousand rubles to the specified bank cards, which the perpetrator's cohabitant had prepared in advance. A criminal case was opened against the 33-year-old fortune teller and her friend under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on a large scale").
A similar incident occurred in Moscow in February. A false sorceress convinced the victim that she had extrasensory abilities and, under the guise of removing a curse and providing occult services, illegally took possession of her money . The total material damage amounted to 67 million rubles. A criminal case of fraud was opened on this fact.
