Fraudsters stole almost 20 million rubles from a pensioner from St. Petersburg. This was reported by a source of Izvestia on November 22.

The criminals contacted the woman several times under the guise of employees of the clinic, Roskomnadzor and Rosfinmonitoring. Citing the financial security of the 68-year-old St. Petersburg resident, they forced her to hand over her savings to them.

Over the course of a month, the pensioner gave six strangers almost 20 million rubles in different currencies. A criminal case has been opened.

Earlier that day, it was reported that a pensioner from Moscow transferred the 25.6 million rubles she received for her apartment into cryptocurrency and an electronic wallet, the code for which she dictated to a fake law enforcement officer. The identification of persons involved in the crime is under control at the Preobrazhensky Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of Moscow.
