The court recovered more than 1 million rubles from a resident of Volgograd, who provided fraudsters with their data for registration of a fictitious account, the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Volgograd region reported.
According to the materials of the criminal case, in October last year, a 56-year-old local resident received a call from a "bank employee" and offered to transfer her savings to a "safe" account, and she told the false banker the code received on the phone, after which more than 1 million rubles were debited from her account.
"The investigation established that the victim's funds were transferred to the bank account of a 20-year - old resident of Volgograd, who, for a monetary reward, provided the attackers with his personal data for issuing a bank card," the press service explained.
A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
In addition, the prosecutor's office filed a claim to the court for recovery of unjust enrichment from the account holder, interest for using other people's money and compensation for moral damage.
The decision of the Central District Court of Volgograd in favor of the pensioner from the dropper collected more than 1 million rubles.
