Users report crashes after installation.

The long-awaited major update of Windows 11 (version 24H2) has brought users not only new features and security improvements, but also a number of serious problems. Many computer owners report that their internet connection is disrupted after installing an update.

According to Windows Report, user complaints appeared on the Microsoft Community forum about the loss of Internet access on several devices after installing the 24H2 update. The problem affects both Wi-Fi and wired connections.

Some users have noticed the appearance of unusual IP addresses that begin with "169..." instead of the standard "192...". Such addresses usually indicate that there is no network connection. As a result, computers "think" they are connected to the network, but in fact do not have access to the Internet.

Attempts to solve the problem by updating drivers, firmware, and resetting network settings have yielded no results. According to PCWorld, problems are observed both on home computers and on devices connected to servers.

It's important to note that the connection issues occurred after installing the 24H2 update. Before the update, the internet connection worked fine.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, there is a temporary solution. Users who encounter the problem can roll back the update by going back to a previous version of Windows 11. For most users, this approach helped restore the Internet.

PCWorld recommends that you review the posts on the Microsoft Community forum to compare your experience with that of other users. There you can also find instructions on how to roll back a problematic Windows update.

It's worth noting that the 24H2 update brought other issues as well, including the appearance of the "blue screen of death," the disappearance of the mouse cursor, and the hard drive filling up with files that can't be deleted.

Microsoft has not yet released an official fix to fix the internet connection issue. Windows 11 users are advised to keep a close eye on news and updates from the company to install the patch in a timely manner when it becomes available.
