Autumn competitions will be held online from November 26 to 29.

The international cyber battle Standoff continues to expand the geography of participants, reaching a new level. This year, the autumn competition will be held from November 26 to 29 in an online format. Information security professionals from different countries will be able to gain new knowledge and skills to put them into practice to protect users, companies and states.

In June, Standoff was held for the first time as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, becoming a completely international event: 42 teams from 21 countries — Central and South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East — took part in it. For the November competition, 60 teams from 26 countries, including Vietnam, India, Indonesia and Thailand, as well as the countries of the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, are announced as part of the attacking (red). The online format of the event will allow hundreds of specialists from almost all continents to participate in the event. Standoff 14 will be a new stage of international cyber exercises and will demonstrate how foreign attacking teams (red) carry out attacks on the infrastructure of the training ground. Teams of defenders (blue) from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia and Vietnam will test their skills in incident investigation.

The infrastructure of enterprises from four industries will be recreated at the virtual test site: energy, oil and gas, financial and IT. This will allow participants to immerse themselves in their roles, test their skills in protecting against cyberattacks and finding vulnerabilities in the infrastructure. During the competition, the attackers will have to carry out several dozen critical actions. The winners will receive a prize fund of 50 thousand US dollars.

A broadcast and analytics studio will be organized to cover the autumn event. Each evening, the hosts will summarize the day together with experts, infrastructure developers and team representatives.

In 2024, the number of cyber incidents continues to grow: in the third quarter, it increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. In India, attacks grew by 46% in the second quarter, and in the Middle East, their number tripled in the first quarter amid increased tensions. On a global scale, cybercriminals most often attack the public sector; in second place in India and the Middle East are industrial enterprises, and in Africa are financial institutions. In such conditions, it is important for all countries to train information security specialists and exchange experience. Standoff cyber battle provides specialists with the opportunity to gain valuable practical skills in the field of countering cyber threats and analyzing the actions of intruders in a short time.
