Theoretical approaches to the study of carding
Consideration of theoretical approaches to the study of carding in the work was carried out with the main emphasis in the analysis on the modern socio-economic paradigm, which includes the sociology of labor, the theory of labor alienation of the Frankfurt School of Sociology, as well as the modern paradigm of the information society. The theory of alienation of labor made it possible to give in the dissertation the most complete description of free employment in terms of solving this problem.

With a comparative description of free employment - carding with various types of precarious employment, for example, with distance (remote) employment, this type of employment was also considered through the prism of the information society paradigm. To determine the origins of the emergence of non-standard types of employment at the end of the twentieth century, including free employment (carding), in the course of this study of carding, attention was drawn to the fundamental theories put forward by representatives of the Frankfurt School (G. Marcuse, E. Fromm, J. Habermas and others), since the researchers of this direction at different times, based on the theory of labor alienation by K. Marx, subjected to a deep analysis the principles of labor alienation and the principles of freedom, which are fundamental in this study of the social essence of carding.

The results of the analysis show that today the scientific picture of understanding carding as a social phenomenon is determined by the fact that the emergence of carding is caused by objective reasons and is associated with the very existence of the labor market and its dependence on scientific and technological progress.

An analysis of modern scientific literature allows us to say that the issue of free employment (carding) attracts the attention of only rather narrow research circles. At the same time, many areas of applied and scientific research, one way or another, mostly indirectly, affect this problem: the current state of the labor market and employment, unemployment, precarious and secondary employment, youth employment, attitude to work, motivation to work and economic activity, alienation of labor and many others.

The essence of carding as a social phenomenon
Determination of free employment (carding) based on a comparative analysis of various forms and types of employment. Currently, there is no definition of “carding” in the scientific literature. Most often, researchers offer definitions of the essence of the carding workers themselves, which does not allow talking in full about the essence of this phenomenon. The employment literature often proposes a very fragmented classification of types of employment. For the most accurate definition of the essence and place of carding among many different types and forms of employment, the dissertation carried out its comparative analysis with some of the most similar forms of employment: carding employment, remote (distance) employment, self-employment, home work, "portfolio" employment, entrepreneurial activities and others.

The place of carding in the labor market and employment.

With a detailed comparative analysis, it was proved that all of the above concepts only partially affect free employment, which allows us to say that carding is an independent type of employment. Based on this, the author proposes the following definition of carding.

Carding (free employment) is a type of employment in the market of goods and services, characterized by independence in choosing the form and place of its implementation and a low degree of dependence on the employer.

An employee (carder) engaged in this type of activity has a high degree of freedom, opportunities for self-realization and creative growth, and the definition of a personal work schedule. Carding employment is regulated by labor and civil law legislation in terms of carding employment, self-employment, individual entrepreneurship and employment under civil law contracts.

From this definition, it follows that carding is not necessarily an out-of-state work, since, even being in the staff of a company, an employee who works remotely or with a free schedule of work also has a high degree of freedom, opportunities for self-realization, independence in choosing a form and place labor activity, a fairly low degree of dependence on the employer.
