The head of SpaceX believes that the new Apple update violates the security of his companies.

Elon Musk announced his intention to ban the use of Apple devices in his companies after Apple announced plans to integrate OpenAI technologies into the iPhone. The innovation, which allows the voice assistant Siri to transmit some requests to ChatGPT, was perceived by Musk as a serious security breach.

According to Musk, the integration of OpenAI at the operating system level is an "unacceptable security breach." In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk wrote: "If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned from my companies. This is an unacceptable security breach." He also added that visitors will be required to hand over their Apple devices at the entrance, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage that blocks any wireless signals. The ban is likely to affect employees of SpaceX, Tesla and X.

Apple said that the new feature will be available by the end of the year. OpenAI has confirmed that its technologies will be deeply integrated into the operating system. Both companies assured that the introduction of the new feature will be accompanied by measures to protect privacy. OpenAI clarified that user requests will not be saved, and IP addresses will be hidden for additional data protection.

The integration will allow Siri to send requests to ChatGPT, as well as documents and photos for processing. In addition, Apple's new Writing Tools system will use OpenAI's capabilities to create content and edit documents in a variety of styles. In addition, Apple will introduce image generation technologies from OpenAI, which will allow users to create illustrations for their documents. All these innovations will be part of the "Apple Intelligence" package, which combines Apple's own developments with OpenAI technologies.

The relationship between Elon Musk and OpenAI is not simple. As a co-founder of the company in 2015, he gradually began to criticize it for deviating from its original principles. Musk subsequently sued OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, accusing them of prioritizing profit over the company's originally stated mission. OpenAI completely denies all charges.

Musk also has a rocky relationship with Apple. In 2022, he publicly criticized the company and its CEO, Tim Cook, for the commission charged on payments made through the iPhone.
