Love manipulation
One of the most insidious and cruel manipulations often used in families. A child accustomed to such treatment begins to understand that the closest people do not accept him entirely, they love him not for what he is, but for the fact that he does or does not do something. In partnerships, such conversations also do not lead to anything good. Indeed, in this case, love is put on one side of the scale, and on the other a certain condition. It turns out that love is a kind of commodity that, if necessary, can be exchanged for services or money.

Manipulation of fear
The use of human fears is one of the favorite techniques of manipulators of all types and stripes. Very often they play on the lack of awareness of the person. Therefore, if you are regularly fooled by some mythical dangers and urged to do this or that in order to avoid them, make inquiries.

Manipulating self-doubt
Manipulation is always a matter of power, and in this case it is most acute. "I am the boss, you are a fool." With him, of course, you can start playing "giveaway" and flatter. But this flattery will never be enough for him. He will calm down for a while, and then again and again seek confirmation of his solvency at the expense of other people's shortcomings. However, he can only manipulate you if you are worried about your lack. Accept yourself and your weaknesses or get rid of them.

Guilt manipulation
It is very common in family life, its frequent use leads to the fact that the husband and wife begin to play an exciting game - collecting other people's faults. Whoever collected more won, read - received the rights to realize their innermost desires. Although it is completely incomprehensible why this self-evident right needs to be won in such a strange and unpleasant way?

Manipulating pride
Vanity has been elevated to the rank of the main idea of Western civilization. Faster, higher, stronger and further, with all the stops right down to the end. The main thing is not to stop and not think. Although Carl Jung, a psychologist, philosopher and generally an intelligent person, said that the first half of life is study, work, marriage. Running around, in a word, but running around is justified. If in the second half a person is pathologically inclined to acquire, he gets sick.

Manipulating feelings of pity
There are very insidious and subtle manipulators of the feeling of pity - “victims” who constantly complain about life and collect dividends - words of encouragement and help. They can discuss their life situation with you indefinitely, but they will never do anything to change something. Because they are happy victims.

Techniques for manipulating people

There are 2 groups of manipulations:
  • directive techniques are based on fear and power
  • techniques of hidden influence "bypass", distract the consciousness-the controller of incoming information - and affect directly the defenseless subconscious.

Below we will analyze eight techniques from the second group

1. An obvious assumption
Example for students: "When you come to the next class, we can discuss with you who has the vending machines."

The second part of the sentence is something important for the interlocutor, he is tempted by this possibility. But the first one is manipulation. It is no longer discussed whether you go for a couple or not - it is obvious that you will come.

2. The three-yes effect
At the beginning, at least two sentences are made that are undoubtedly true. And then the third, when we agree by inertia.

Example: "Today we have gathered with you in this hall (yes, indeed) to sum up the results of the work done (well, yes, the results) and discuss our plans for the future (yes, it is necessary). And so I'm asking you all to choose a supervisor by voting."

3. Linked words
In Russian, there are words that are used to connect parts of a sentence. They make our speech logical, and we get so used to this logic that sometimes we don't notice how it is used against us. These words: yes, and at the same time, because, therefore, precisely for this reason, than-that, it follows.

- This phone has a very weak speaker.
- Yes, the sound is actually quiet, which is why the vibration is much stronger than other models.

This will allow you to always answer calls, and not distract other people with a loud ringtone.

4. Selection without selection
This is a variation of the obvious suggestion. A person is offered a choice of two options, while one of the options is not feasible and unpleasant, and the second is the purpose of manipulation and in fact is better than the first. Of course, we will choose the option that we like best.

5. Clear, obvious, clear
Even the most controversial expressions get a more logical sound with such words. And the more confidently a person speaks, the more the consciousness believes him.

It is quite clear that this article needs to be read several times. Like, why all of a sudden? But if we start to think about this statement, our brain will give us several possible answers. For example, to better assimilate the material, or in case I forget something and need to peek...

6. Incomplete action
Yes, TV shows here are immediately remembered as a vivid example. In this case, the bet is made on human curiosity. A person's attention is drawn to an incomplete phrase or action. An intrigue is created.

7. Number of repetitions
The fact is that people will remember information better if you repeat it to them. For example, remember how the teacher says "Open your diaries". Then he asks ," Have you opened your diaries?" "Vasya, have you opened your diary?"

Agree, after three reminders, you will almost certainly open the diary.

8. Direct suggestion
When communicating with people, sometimes you need to tell them directly what you want them to do. If you need something, feel free to talk about it. Direct suggestion is best used near the end of the conversation, as if to summarize.
