In early October 2024, a man turned to the bank's office located in the center of the city of Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod Region, in order to issue and receive several debit bank cards. The identification card presented by him for this, issued to a 26-year-old citizen of the republic of the near abroad, aroused suspicion among the employees of the financial institution. They reported their suspicions to the police.
A foreign citizen born in 1998 was taken to the police department. During the interview, he explained to law enforcement officers that he had received a fake electronic foreign passport from an accomplice through a messenger to issue debit cards for a monetary reward.
According to the results of a technical and forensic study, it was established that the seized identification card is fake.
A criminal case was initiated against the citizen on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, the received "plastic" was supposed to be sent to third parties in the future to make illegal payments, but, thanks to the vigilance of bank employees, the criminal activity was stopped in time. As part of the preliminary investigation, the persons who "ordered" the production of bank cards in the name of a citizen are identified.
The defendant in the criminal case was chosen a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave and proper behavior. The sanction of this article provides for a maximum sentence of imprisonment for 1 year.
