We've all heard something about them. Endorphins, serotonin, something else. And we know that they are produced in our body, and in response we experience pleasant emotions. I wish I could test them more often!

Imagine we can really influence this. The fact is that the brain produces this or that hormone in response to a signal about an event or process, which it reads as positive. This hormone is called endogenous (i.e. intrinsic) morphine - it acts primarily as a pain reliever. When an athlete reaches the finish line in a state of euphoria, not paying attention to the injury, endorphin works in his body at that moment. In other words, it is generated in response to situations where we physically overcome ourselves.

? How to stimulate endorphin production?
Any kind of sports and physical activity in general. Anything you like, from yoga and Pilates to running and barbells. The main thing is not to overdo it: to engage in joy, to a state of pleasant fatigue. Yes, and also endorphins are produced when we cry - so after crying we feel better and calmer. And when we laugh, they are released into the blood too.

All in all, a great way to relieve stress and feel euphoric with this hormone is to exercise yourself physically. And also cry or laugh - for example, over a movie or a book.
