Remote work, which used to be something unusual and seemed to many to be nothing more than entertainment or part-time work, is now firmly entrenched in its special segment in the market. A high-quality carder can earn an order of magnitude more than his office colleagues, while taking advantage of such advantages as a free schedule and work from any convenient place. But, as in any other area, there are also advantages and disadvantages here, which we will talk about below.
Carding mainly involves people whose profession allows them not to be tied to one place: programmers, translators, journalists, designers, etc. Even the word "Carding" itself translates as "free worker".
There are many advantages to carding, and each person has their own motivation for switching to this way of working. The following positive points can be highlighted:

There are many advantages to carding, and each person has their own motivation for switching to this way of working. The following positive points can be highlighted:
- Free choice of projects. You can only do the work that you really enjoy. And there is no more need to waste precious time on boring and stressful activities, for which they also pay a penny. But this bonus becomes available only after gaining a certain experience and portfolio, and beginners, mainly, have to take on the first job they come across, and even in conditions of fierce competition.
- The freedom to manage your personal time. You can forget about Mondays, alarms and bosses. Negotiate terms with customers and work the way you find it convenient. Good self-organization and time planning will allow you to use your skills as efficiently as possible while reducing your time investment.
- No risk of dismissal. Despite the seeming "stability" of an office employee, the risks in terms of the possibility of being unemployed are much greater than those of a carder. After all, the latter can, as a last resort, simply take a project with a lower payment, but still receive income.
- There is no income limit. You are no longer tied to the "rate", and you do not receive any measly 5% of the profits of the chief, who is resting on the islands at this time. Carder's earnings are limited only by their skills and ability to work.
- Organization of the workplace. In the office, everyone sits at the same tables and chairs, and the manager, in principle, does not care what your preferences are. Organization of the workplace to your liking.
- Time with loved ones. The absence of the need to spend several hours a day on trips to work and sit in the office all day long, allows you to devote more time to loved ones, which, undoubtedly, has a positive moral effect.
- New knowledge. When working "for an uncle" you only need to do what you are told, which, accordingly, leads to professional degradation. There is no such thing in carding, and the skill level is growing really fast.
- Lack of constant monitoring. Finally, you can take a break from the constant delivery of reports, boring meetings and constant nagging from the management, which in most cases considers you solely as a machine for making money for yourself.
Nevertheless, there are frank disadvantages in carding, although not everyone considers them as such. Of the negative aspects of carding, the following can be distinguished:
- Income volatility. It will be difficult for a beginner with little experience to find and receive an order for a good and highly paid project. Moreover, not all customers are honest, and sometimes there are those who will deceive at the first opportunity.
- Irregular work schedule. One of the main disadvantages of working from home is when you need to constantly be distracted by various annoying factors, as a result of which the quality of the work suffers, and it takes too long to complete the project. The lack of a psychological switch "home - work" is both physically and mentally exhausting.
- Desocialization. Lack of communication with colleagues at work leads to isolation in a limited environment. Not everyone is comfortable working alone, and the lack of communication with the team becomes a problem.
- Trial and error. Everything will have to learn from our own experience, which means there is no guarantee of income. There is no one to consult with, and the training will clearly not be free.
- High competition. You will have to look for projects on your own, negotiate everything yourself. Your future depends on your professional skills, so you will need to be in the process of constant learning.
- Lack of social package. You can forget about vacations and paid days off when switching to carding. As well as about sick leave, and other social "buns". Although, with a skillful organization of work, you can not bother with something like that.
- Discipline problems. If for effective work you need constant control from someone's side, then the transition to carding is definitely not for you. Failure to meet the deadline for the order will not please any performer.
