Start a grounding ritual

That is, a healthy habit that will become a daily ritual that fills you with energy. It can be a few pages of a book before going to bed, a walk in the park on a familiar route, a yoga class, a cup of tea every night in a quiet cafe. Choose yours - and such an "anchor" will become a regular emotional recharge for you.

Include observer

Learn to manage your gift: listen to the person as if from the outside, not letting his difficult stories pass through you.

Keep in mind the idea that people need to speak out and experience their emotions, that they are better able to support themselves on their own than you think. You can try to mentally imagine a glass partition between you and the person you are talking to.
