The developers have introduced new features that will make the browser even more reliable.
Google expanded the capabilities of the Security Check tool in the Chrome browser. This feature was introduced back in 2020, and now developers are upgrading it for user convenience.
First, this tool will now automatically run in the background and check whether passwords stored in the browser have been compromised. If a password leak is detected, the system will issue a corresponding warning.
Secondly, desktop versions of Chrome will now receive alerts in case of using potentially dangerous extensions that have been removed from the official Chrome Web Store. Users will be able to opt out of tools that pose a security risk in a timely manner.
Chrome will also warn you if the user has an outdated version of the browser installed or the "Phishing and Malware Protection" feature is disabled, which blocks potentially dangerous sites. This way, for example, attackers will not be able to exploit known vulnerabilities and infect your computer.
In addition, "Security Check" can now automatically revoke unnecessary permissions to access data, such as geolocation and microphone usage, for websites that the user has not visited for a long time. This will provide additional privacy for your personal information.
Another feature allows you to save and synchronize groups of open tabs on different computers. The user will be able to open the desired set of tabs in the Chrome browser on any of their devices.
Chrome's performance optimization tools, such as the memory-saving mode, will now display more detailed statistics on RAM usage for each open tab. This will help you identify resource-intensive sites that are overloading the system.
In general, all the innovations are designed to make one of the most popular browsers in the world even more secure and convenient to use. User comfort and data protection are a priority for Google.
