The author of the book "The Art of Learning" Josh Vaytskin at the age of 9 had 8 titles of the US chess champion, at the age of 11 he drew with Garry Kasparov. When he was 17, the movie "Finding Bobby Fischer" was shot about him, which was nominated for an Oscar. At 22, Josh became interested in the martial arts of Taijiquan and Jiu-Jitsu and won 13 different championships. But Josh is confident that he has mastered the art of learning best - here are some of his principles.

1. You can learn everything.
There are two concepts of intelligence - simulated by the theory of preference and the theory of increment. Assignment theory says that it is very difficult to develop abilities and for everything "there must be talent." Increment theory says that any skill can be developed. A child brought up in the spirit of this theory that with hard work it is possible to master even difficult material, that, incrementing his knowledge step by step, a beginner can reach the level of a master.

Research proves that the proponents of the second theory achieve great results. Children who associate success with hard work, when faced with a difficult situation, demonstrate an orientation towards mastering the necessary knowledge, in contrast to children who consider themselves simply smart or stupid, as well as capable or incapable of something.

2. Don't notice distractions.
Only in an ideal world nothing can take us away from the learning process. The real world is full of extraneous noise. Only by reaching full concentration during the learning process can you reach unprecedented heights. Try to deliberately amplify annoying factors (such as playing loud music) and overcome them.

3. Defeated? Come back to yourself quickly.
The first mistake is rarely catastrophic, but if it is followed by a second, third, and fourth, they set off a destructive chain reaction. Once you make a mistake, it’s not hard to return to your emotional comfort zone, but the anxious feeling that the situation has changed for the worse does not disappear. A person who previously thought soberly becomes confused.

You can visualize this with two lines tending towards each other, but not intersecting. One of these lines? time, and the second? our perception of the present moment. When we adequately perceive what is happening, our perception goes on a par with the movement of time, but if we make a mistake and fix ourselves on it, then we lag behind the passage of time and remain in the past. And the gap between time and perception is constantly increasing. Time passes, but we remain in place. We live, play chess, walk the streets, but our eyes see not the present, but the past. We must learn to notice such moments and not linger in them.

4. Cultivate "optimistic competence" in yourself.
The life of an ambitious person is like walking on a sports beam. The child has no fear, no fear of falling. The beam seems wide and reliable, and the childish carelessness encourages creativity and helps to learn quickly. You can jump, somersault, and the love of discoveries and everything new drives you to new achievements.

As a person matures, the log can become a tight rope. It is worth a little slip, and this is already a disaster. A key aspect of high-performance learning is the ability to cultivate optimistic competence, which successfully replaces the playful carelessness of older age. Roughly speaking, the simpler we are about learning, the better. We must constantly remember that this is a game, this is a living process, in which mistakes are inevitable.

5. Don't be afraid of mistakes.
There are periods of temporary decline in athletic performance, and this is absolutely normal. Sometimes during such recessions, we understand ourselves even more than during the period of victories.

Even great athletes sometimes allow themselves to waste time with no immediate benefit to their careers, and also to find time to, figuratively speaking, sharpen their swords to continue the battle. For example, the famous basketball player Michael Jordan has made more accurate shots in the last minute of the match than any other player in the history of the NBA. But at the same time, Jordan missed the most in the last minute of the match - in the entire history of this game. He became great not because he was flawless, but because he was not afraid to make mistakes.

6. Learn new things through the opposite.
We often do not understand what this or that person really means to us until he leaves us. The heart rate gives an idea of how strong the love was. Imagine how pleasant it is to finally walk on your own two feet after being chained to crutches for a long time? nothing better than illness makes us feel the price of health. Who values water more than a man dying of thirst in the wilderness? The human mind tends to evaluate things relative to each other. Use this.

7. Trust your intuition.
Each of us has been puzzled by a situation that has changed in some way over time, and then suddenly intuitively realized the answer to our original question. Many of us have happened upon meeting a stranger at once, seemingly for no reason, to feel sympathy for him or to experience negative feelings. I have found that even though it may take several years in some cases to verify that the original result is correct, in the end the intuitive conclusions are surprisingly correct.

Intuition? our most valuable compass in this world. This is a bridge between consciousness and subconsciousness, and it is extremely important to influence the subconscious through it. If we are so carried away by narcissistic academic realism that we are able to declare intuition non-existent only because we do not fully understand its mechanism of action, or if we shortsightedly consider the subconscious to be part of a system that mysteriously functions in an area with which we have no connection, then we lose an excellent opportunity to establish contact with an inexhaustible source of creative energy.

8. Give yourself permission to be the best.
There are clear differences between what it takes to perform at a decent level, a really good level, become one of the best and become the first. If you want to sit somewhere in the middle, then you have a fairly high limit on mistakes. You can get depressed if you were fired, and then wander around the apartment all day, waiting for a call with a new job offer. With this worldview, people perceive trauma as retreats to previous positions.

If I want to be the best, then I must take risks when others avoid risk, learn from the lessons and learn how to turn any unfavorable situation into an advantageous one. It takes passion to get to the top. Think of obstacles as an additional impetus to new searches and learning something new. They only strengthen the resolve. Any trauma or loss is easier to deal with if you don't give up.

1️⃣ There are several important principles that reveal the essence of failure that befalls a person.

First, failures are a kind of "brake shoe" that blocks movement in one direction or another. The universe is a very precise and incredibly complex system. And, as you know, even the smallest imperfection, the smallest mistake, can disorganize and destroy the entire system, no matter how huge it may be, if only this small imperfection, this small mistake, will not be noticed and neutralized in time.

So, in the Universe, there is a certain law for the timely tracking and elimination of these "small errors". When your activity begins to threaten the universal universal harmony, this law comes into effect and this or that event happens to you, which blocks your "criminal" activity. ⛔

The mechanism of action of this law differs from the moral attitudes that we are used to unconditionally follow and it is hardly possible to comprehend it with the help of our usual logic. With the outward similarity of actions, the activity of one person is sharply suppressed, while the other, on the contrary, is stimulated and almost encouraged. That is why a purely individual approach is needed here.

Having learned to analyze your failures and mistakes, you can easily figure out the reasons why this or that activity was "blocked"!

A simple example ...
Let's say you are a businessman and you have a very good deal pecking at you. In anticipation of her, you begin to overly emotionally make plans for the future: “I'll get the money and buy myself a new car. "Toyota", also to me, a smart guy was found ... "?

Your "sense of self-importance" (SSV) begins to swell to cosmic proportions, crossing a certain "red line". Without even knowing it, you create a corresponding program at the "subtle" levels, which, when embodied in reality, can lead to certain consequences that are undesirable for the normal functioning of certain mechanisms of the Universe. You have just "thought", and the faceless cosmic law has already calculated all the consequences of the embodiment of your thoughts. The "ban" is triggered and the deal, which was almost already in your pocket, is thwarted. Neither the "six hundredth Mers" you, nor the envy of the cattle-Vasilyev. And very much even correct! ?

In a situation like this, IT IS IMPORTANT HOW YOU RESPOND TO YOUR FAILURE. If, signing the next contract, you remain cool and impartial, do not unnecessarily annoy fate and make plans for revenge, everything will go on as usual. If not, this deal and the next one will fail, and you will not have not only a new car, but the old one will have to be sold in a hurry in order to pay off the debts to creditors. ?

Here, again, everything will depend only on you. The sooner you rebuild and start moving in the right direction, the faster the losing streak will be behind you ... ?

2️⃣ In addition to the "blocking" and "guiding" functions, failures carry one more - "teaching". This principle, unlike the previous two, does not apply to everyone. Only those people who have advanced in their spiritual development far enough to consciously draw certain "lessons" from the troubles that happen to them fall under its action. ?

The mechanism of action here is no different from the mechanism of action of the two previous laws. The only thing that is added is awareness of what is happening. ? Now, in order to avoid troubles, you will need not only to correctly react to this or that situation, but also to be aware of it. ?

Nobody argues, it is much more difficult than being just a puppet in the hands of fate, but this opens up new opportunities for you. With the right approach, you will be able to stay ahead of events, predicting them and extracting a lot of useful information for yourself. So, if the businessman from the above example can fail a dozen profitable deals before he intuitively feels in which direction he should move, then a person who knows how to draw positive lessons from troubles that happen to him is able to correct the situation from the very beginning. It is enough for him to realize the destructive power of his thoughts, to realize the inflation of his own PSV, and the negative program will be neutralized! ?

These principles can manifest themselves both in their pure form, and enter among themselves in various combinations. Also, if you have achieved some degree of excellence in responding to setbacks correctly, you have a chance to use the setbacks to your advantage! ???

Personally, I understood and began to put this into practice in my youth.
When I was still a very young man, I brought the manuscript of a new story to the editorial office of a journal. I knew that the magazine had announced a literary competition, and I really wanted to take part in this competition. However, I somehow hesitated to offer the manuscript in this capacity. A week later, the editor announced his decision. Not his eyes, the story turned out to be too voluminous; in addition, the form in which the work was written was somewhat different from what the magazine "usually prints"; and the financial state of affairs of the editorial office is such that not today or tomorrow "it will be completely covered up" ... I did not like the manuscript! .. ?

Failure! Failure!!. ??
And suddenly it dawned on me. "Tell me, is it true that next spring you are announcing a competition for aspiring authors?" - I asked a direct question, hiding the manuscript back in my portfolio. "Yes, yes! .. - the editor perked up. - Now, if you had a couple of short stories ..." I had stories. At home, in a folder labeled "do not stir." Having selected three, in my opinion, the most acceptable, I returned to the editorial office. In May 98, the stories were published and ... won the first prize! As the saying goes, "there would be no happiness, but misfortune helped." ???

Note, in business and in any other areas of your life, everything works EXACTLY THE SAME! .. ?

3️⃣ It is very important to learn how to take advantage of every little thing, any undesirable event that happens to you, no matter how insignificant it may seem!

Try to reason in a similar way. Very soon you will realize that no event that happens to us is definitely good or bad. It all depends on YOURSELF. ❗

✅ If you begin to notice in what is happening only "bad", then failures will pile up like a snowball. If the preference is given to the "good", your affairs will rapidly go uphill. ‼ ️

"Everything that happens, everything is for the best!" - let this phrase become your motto.

I do not want to seem banal, but I cannot help but remind you that happiness is not outside, but inside us. One can be happy, living in a barrel, while the other will remain deeply unhappy, having at his disposal a huge palace. Happy is the one who felt the Harmony of all that exists and allowed his soul to resonate in accordance with this Harmony.

✳️ Good luck will become the lot of someone who internally (that is, in his soul), perceives any (!) Situation with joy, even if at first glance it carries nothing but pain and bitterness, but externally (that is, in his actions), strives to achieve all the best, never stopping at what has been achieved. ✳️

Stick to this simple rule and your dreams can come true very soon ... ?

These are not just words. This is a PRACTICE, hard-won and tested on its own skin. This is just a kind of the very practical esotericism, which I have already mentioned more than once ... ?
