Last week, operators of the underground marketplace White House Market (WHM) announced the closure of their marketplace, almost two years after its launch, according to The Record .
“We have achieved our goal, and now, according to the plan, it is time for us to retire,” reads an official message posted on the WHM homepage and signed with the operators' unique cryptographic key. - Thank you all for your business, trust, support and, of course, for putting large sums of money in our pockets. Someday, in the future, we may come back with another project, or maybe not. "

After the announcement was published, the site, which worked on the same principle as Amazon and eBay, had already disabled the registration of new users and the publication of new lots. Sellers have been warned that it is time for them to move their products to other darknet marketplaces.

“We will maintain the site for a limited time until all open orders are completed, disputes are resolved and funds are withdrawn. We don't know how long it will take, but don't think you'll come back in six months and find that the marketplace is still working, ”write the WHM administrators.

WHM was launched on the darknet in October 2019. According to statistics published by the site administration, the marketplace had 895,000 registered users, 3,450 sellers and about 47,500 ads. Although the site was used to advertise and sell a variety of illegal goods and services, WHM was primarily known for the section that sold drugs, with most of the sellers operating only in European territories.

Other products and services offered at WHM included bank cards, malware, counterfeiting, and the sale of military equipment, including weapons, body armor, jammers and secure communications.
Reporters note that the WHM maintained a high level of security by requiring all users to disable JavaScript in the Tor browser before accessing the site, and was known for a strong team of moderators who actively participated in dispute resolution, which once helped the site gain the trust of both sellers and buyers. ...
