Often there is a need to provide a certain "sound protection". A microphone and voice recorder jammer (blocker, suppressor) is a modern technical means that significantly complicates and makes impossible the unauthorized removal of information using special devices for recording and transmitting sound.
Simply put: the switched-on device ensures the jamming of all recorders and "bugs" within a certain radius, making "leakage" impossible. The latter may be required to ensure information security at home or - more often - in work conditions.

Selection criteria
Let's analyze the general and key selection criteria that need to be taken into account when purchasing a device to ensure information security, sequentially, highlighting them in the form of a list:- Type of interference. There are two types of dictaphone jammers: ultrasonic and acoustic. In the first case, the device emits an ultrasonic wave that affects the microphone membrane. The disadvantage is the need to direct the beam towards the supposed location of the microphones and dictaphones (or buy more of them: otherwise, it will not be possible to ensure complete protection of the room). In the second case, the device emits sound noise, generates a "speech choir": then nothing is heard in the recording except interference. A significant advantage: the equipment directs the beams in all directions (360 degrees). Often, such jammers have the function of blocking not only microphones, but also laser devices for collecting information. To enhance the suppression effect, an acoustic device is sometimes connected. There are also disadvantages: the transmitted interference does not interfere with the conversation, but is captured by the human ear.
- Range. The distance over which ultrasonic or acoustic waves propagate is measured in meters and can vary widely. Some devices provide a “jammer” in a small radius (several meters), others - in a radius of tens of meters, and others - in a radius of several hundred meters.
- Control. Progressive voice recorder jammers provide the ability to manually adjust: you can select the operating mode and power according to the individual situation. If the device is used for different tasks and in different places, you cannot do without such functionality.
- Frequencies. The range of suppressed frequencies is a key selection criterion, since devices that record sound may work differently. For example, not every device provides a "jamming" of the microphone from a regular phone. Often it is necessary to exclude a cellular network, Wi-Fi, GPRS.
- Size and format. If you need a hidden microphone suppressor, it is logical to pay attention to small-sized devices. A separate subclass is camouflage suppressors, capable of imitating other equipment and not causing unnecessary suspicion. Note that professional suppressors are larger in size than usual, since they have a special display with working information.
