When the world says no, China says "why not?"

Science and technology have become the key points of China's new action plan presented at the Third Belt and Road Cooperation Forum in Beijing. This comes amid a growing list of bans on the export of key technologies from Western countries.

Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed the view that his vision of the Belt and Road Initiative can offer a solution to overcome such technological and innovative challenges. He stressed that China is against "unilateral sanctions" and supply chain disruptions.

In his speech, Xi stressed the importance of "promoting scientific and technological innovation" through cooperation with other countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. The action plan includes harnessing the markets and talents of participating countries for technological development.

One of the points of the action plan calls for doubling the number of joint research laboratories between China and the Belt and Road countries over the next five years. These laboratories specialize in areas such as health, new energy, and agriculture.

In cooperation with other countries, China also continues to support young researchers by providing them with opportunities to work on short-term projects in China.

In his speech at the forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Belt and Road initiative can help find "collective and truly effective solutions" to international problems.
