Do check cashing stores have any real ability to verify checks (the account balance)? Or do they all basically just get your info and hope for the best?

Is there some set number of a check where they really go all out to find out? Certain amounts I have never seen a problem but just wondering if someone goes above and beyond will it cause a problem.

In my own experience. Yes they verify if the check and the account is real (they will just give you money and hope for the best? are you insane..lol) the only thing is, they can't check the balance on the account but once the check does not look phony and the information is correct, then they will pay you. I will advice not to go past $3k on it though. $2.8k is my best fast cash.

So you print up check using check stock and MICR ink, using real account...then go to check cashing place with fake ID and thats it?What if they want thumbprint?Sounds too simple.

I was thinking more if you had legit checks from someones account....but in my experience some places thumb print, some dont, a lot take your pic so it'd be best to travel a little bit.
