Employees were left without access to corporate mail and documents.

The Unicoin cryptocurrency company was recently subjected to a large-scale cyber attack, as a result of which the company's employees lost corporate access for four whole days. The incident occurred on August 9, when an unknown hacker gained access to the company's Google G Suite accounts and changed the passwords of all users, which led to a complete loss of access to the systems.

Almost four days of Unicoin employees with email addresses "@unicoin.com" we couldn't use any working services, including Google Mail and Google Drive. Only on August 13, the company managed to restore access and expel the attacker from its network.

Representatives of Unicoin said that an analysis of the damage and the scale of the data leak is currently ongoing. It is not yet clear who is behind the attack, but the company noted that, despite the lack of evidence of theft of funds, violations were found in the personal data of employees and contractors in the accounting department.

There were also traces of hacking into email accounts and messages of some managers. Unicoin cannot yet give an accurate forecast of the possible financial consequences of the incident.

Unicoin is one of the few cryptocurrency companies that provide reports to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Its cryptocurrency is backed by a portfolio of assets that includes real estate and shares of other companies. To date, the company has sold more than $ 500 million worth of branded tokens.

This incident highlights the importance of enhanced cybersecurity for all companies, especially those working with digital assets. Even the largest and most respected players in the market are not immune from cyber attacks that can seriously disrupt business activities. Maintaining high security standards and constantly monitoring systems are becoming critical factors for maintaining customer trust and protecting corporate data.
