iLearningEngines has fallen victim to an unprecedented interception attack.

iLearningEngines reported a cyberattack in which attackers gained access to the network and stole $250,000. This is stated in a statement filed with the SEC.

According to the documents, an unidentified hacker penetrated the corporate network, after which he redirected an active bank transfer to his account. The funds have not yet been returned. The company did not specify the date of the incident and the nature of the attack, but the description of the incident indicates a BEC attack. Such schemes are often aimed at companies that make bank transfers or work with foreign suppliers.

In addition, the attacker deleted part of the email correspondence and gained access to some files on the corporate network. There is no information about the nature of the files. The company has not yet responded to media requests.

The documentation also noted that the incident caused additional costs that could continue to grow and had a significant impact on the company's operations in the current fiscal quarter. For the second quarter of 2024, the company recorded a loss of $314 million on revenue of $135 million.

iLearningEngines, which positions itself as a developer of AI-powered learning automation solutions, went public in April 2024 and serves more than 1,000 enterprise customers.
