Sberbank named the reasons why popular fraudulent schemes with bank cards have become so successful. According to the financial institution, more than 76% of malicious transactions were carried out due to the common gullibility of users.

It turned out that many Russians simply disclose PIN-codes and other data of their cards themselves in response to messages popular with fraudsters about blocking cards.

In addition, according to Sberbank, 18% of illegal transactions were carried out thanks to malicious programs that steal payment information from mobile devices.

The credit organization recommends that citizens do not disclose their payment information in any way. Fraudsters often send false information about blocking a card at random - by e-mail, messages in a messenger, or calls.

To check the information about the possible blocking of your bank card, you should call the hotline number, which is indicated on the bank card itself.

Also last week it became known that the Russian cybercriminal Alexander Vinnik, previously arrested in Greece, admitted to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation in money laundering and fraud in Russia. It became known that Vinnik wrote a confession.

And in the middle of the month, the Russian authorities took care of protecting the personal data of citizens from cybercriminals. Thus, in the near future, we can expect the introduction of criminal punishment for the theft of digital identities.
