BSTM operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with investigators of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow and employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia, stopped the activities of an organized group consisting of the heads of major PR agencies in the capital and their partners. They are suspected of extortion.
"It was previously established that the attackers published slanderous information about politicians, businessmen and representatives of law enforcement agencies on the network of popular Telegram channels belonging to them. For removing this information from the media space and refusing to further replicate it, they demanded to transfer funds in a particularly large amount.
Two heads of PR agencies were taken into custody by the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow.
Police searched the suspects ' homes and offices used by them. Information carriers with information about published negative publications and reports on profit received, as well as other items of evidentiary value, were seized. According to available information, about 20 people were involved in the criminal scheme. The role of each of them is set.
