Briefly about why you should not keep all your savings in one crypto wallet.
The infamous group of hackers "Pink Drainer" has again attracted attention by committing a major theft of $4.33 million in the Chainlink cryptocurrency. It is noteworthy that all funds were stolen from the wallet of one particular user.
The wealthy victim lost 275,700 links from his account in just one minute and a couple of transactions. The Scam Sniffer blockchain security team has confirmed the link between this theft and Pink Drainer, but the exact mechanism of the victim's interaction with the phishing site remains unclear.
Blockchain researcher ZachXBT noted that since the theft, the stolen funds were sold for Etherium, and are currently being laundered through the eXch instant cryptocurrency exchange service.
Over the past year, the Pink Drainer group has been linked to several major hacks at Discord and Twitter, including Evomos, Pika Protocol, OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati, and Orbiter Finance. The Pink Drainer hackers are also known for their scams, in which they posed as crypto journalists.
Back in June, the Scam Sniffer team reported that criminals stole about $3 million from 1,932 victims, but as of December 19, this number had grown to $ 18.7 million from 9,068 victims, according to Dune Analytics.
