BelTA learned this from the police department of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

A 45-year-old Minsk resident who became a victim of fraud turned to the capital's law enforcement officers for help.

In a social network, a woman met a foreigner who allegedly worked for an oil company in Yemen. In the correspondence, the man confessed his love to the Minsk woman and said that he wanted to fly to Belarus, but could not, as his accounts were blocked. The woman believed a new friend and transferred him more than Br3 thousand to buy a plane ticket. However, after a while, the man reported that the money did not come. The Minsk resident transferred money again, but the situation repeated itself. When the lover accused the woman of deception and began to insist on a third transfer, she realized that she was the victim of a fraudster and turned to the police.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud.
