Unknown persons moved ~4,800 BTC ($144 million) of the Abraxas darknet marketplace, whose team committed an exit scam in November 2015. This was noticed by the on-chain detective ZachXBT.

An entity moved ~4800 BTC ($144M) originating from Abraxas darknet market which exit scammed in Nov 2015 after previously sitting dormant.

The expert noted that the funds that came into motion almost eight years later began to accumulate on several wallets. Some of it was sent to the mixing services for laundering.

According to ZachXBT, former platform administrators are behind the transactions, since most of the assets were transferred to addresses at the time of the fraudulent scheme implementation.

Some commentators agreed with his suggestions, recalling that at least one skamer had recently been released from prison.

"Imagine waiting 8 years, sitting on $1.5 million and watching it grow to $144 million," one user wrote.

Imagine waiting 8 years and sitting on a 1.5mln an seeing it growing to 144mln.

ZachXBT stressed that unknown people do not make attempts to sell cryptocurrency — they try to "whiten" assets, conducting operations as inconspicuously as possible.
