Since October 19, the program has been distributed under the guise of a legitimate user interface for Ledger wallets, which allows you to store cryptocurrencies offline.

In total, the fraudster's wallet received 38 transactions worth 16.8 BTC ($588,000). The first one is dated October 24. The largest one-time transfer was $81,200.

At the time of writing, all coins have been withdrawn to a different address.

ZachXBT also found the attacker's Ethereum address, which received assets in the equivalent of just over 88 ETH. The total damage was $768,000.

Update: Received an ETH/BSC address from a victim that has collected ~$180K in funds from the fake app.

Microsoft has already removed the fake Ledger Live app from its platform. However, ZachXBT believes that the tech giant "should be held accountable" for the situation.
