Suggestion or suggestion is a psychological impact on a person's consciousness, in which there is a special uncritical perception of the information conveyed to him. To use this psychotechnique, a person uses specially formed verbal or emotional constructions, which we will talk about in this article.
Rational impact is an appeal to human logic, facts, reason. Suggestive influence is an appeal to the unconscious and feelings. Suggestion (suggestion) includes both verbal (special speech constructions) and non-verbal (special timbre of voice, gestures, emotional coloring of what was said) elements.
The first method of suggestive influence, which I would like to analyze, is the use of "YES SET" in speech. This method assumes that the inspiring person sequentially uses several statements with which his interlocutor agrees and at the end of the enumeration the setting that needs to be accepted is pronounced. For example: “Alexander, you have been working in the company for 3 years. You are a valuable employee. Your contribution to the team's work is seen by the board of directors. When you had to close the last important project and stay after work, you always stayed. We need to stay today. "
Another method of suggestive influence is called implication. The essence of the implication is that the message that needs to be instilled is voiced as something self-evident, not subject to doubt. For example: "During our meeting next week, you will see ..." (assuming that the meeting will take place).
The next method we will turn to is the double bind. The essence of the method lies in the fact that a person is asked to make a choice without a choice. For example: "Ilya, when will you throw out the trash, before you wash your cup or after?"
Vivid figurative words can be one of the markers of the use of suggestive suggestion. These words are easy to imagine. The power of suggestion depends on the brightness of the characteristics of these figurative words. For example: "Today, after work on this cold dank autumn evening, I will probably miss a glass of aromatic hot scalding mulled wine in our favorite bar."
The tempo of speech and the timbre of the voice also play a role in suggestion. A person using suggestion techniques usually uses soft and benevolent intonations. During key phrases, the tone of the voice is lowered and impressive pauses are maintained at climaxes. A word can be turned into a suggestion by taking it out of context, slightly changing the tone of voice. In written texts, this suggestion is usually highlighted in bold.
It must be remembered that no suggestion gives a 100% guarantee that exactly what you are being told will happen. Any suggestion may not be accepted. Indirect suggestion is carried out bypassing conscious control, but it can always be rejected.
