Suggestion about reputation

Hi,

thx for taking the time to read this thread. A lot of "trusted" people these days seem to be turning out to be rippers in the end.

As some of us prove to them that they are rippers they -1 rep us. Now I know that rep isn't really important but for some of us that want to get to 50rep(for registration csu) it's not good if everyday the same ppl -1 rep you cuz u proved them wrong.

So what I am suggesting is that if someone is proved a ripper then you completely remove all rep they added or took away.

I know alot of people on this site that give dead shit just to get +rep, thats style that Frankabagnale what was he called was using quite well and he kept coming back with another ID and using it over and over again.

why not one rep per person to another. you have to be pretty lame to create new logins just to rep someone. Also maybe 10 posts min to be able to rep. then thta removes the people who just create a login and rep.

Personally i think this is a bad idea as people throughout the forum should have the right to comment on other peoples legitimacy,

I do however believe their should be rules around the use of the rep system and have a certain appeal section if a reputation is unwarranted

And i do realize that if such a section was created it would mean an endless amount of stupid reports so really i have nothing of value to add in the way of ideas but all i know is something does need to change,

Well i'm not too sure how the rep system currently works, but only allowing a member to rep the same person once a month would reduce the amount of rep spam. (if something similar is in effect then disregard this)

Another idea would be to only allow reps to be given for a transaction or a useful thread posted, such as a tutorial. While this may hurt the people who provide useful posts, it will give an incentive for people to make more quality threads.

I think this would atleast give reps some value, as currently reps don't really mean much in the way of trust.

use feedback system like ebay for vendors. buyers rate vendor good or bad and give reason for such rating. reasons can be all kinds such support not answer icq or never get product.

high rep do not mean trust the vendor!

YES because a lot of people just buy depending on the rep. like for eg i have people go first without using escrow for me and I don't think this is good.

I do agree with banjo, remove the ability to rep until that user has earnt rep. its easy to post 10 posts like leaving feedback.
