Attackers will be able to implement many negative scenarios, including an attack on an orbiting satellite.

The number of targeted attacks on organizations is constantly growing . In these circumstances, companies need to rethink their approaches to information security: do not try to protect themselves from everything at once, but build a system of effective cybersecurity, using really necessary tools and solutions. That is why the concept of Standoff 12 cyber training, which will take place in Moscow on November 21-24, will change: new unacceptable events will appear on the layout, defense teams will be able to stop attacks, and the battle itself will have a completely different narrative with comments on what is happening on the layout and a demonstration of all events on screens.

The importance of cybersecurity is recognized by both commercial companies, budget organizations, and government authorities: rapid digitalization and the development of information systems require constant attention of information security specialists. And since in Russia the heads of organizations are personally responsible for cybersecurity and are interested in acquiring the skills of information security services employees sufficient to recognize and stop hackers ' actions, cyber polygons are becoming a key element of the effective cybersecurity system.

Standoff participants will be able to dive into the context of current tactics and techniques of attackers, make sure that they are able to detect cyber attacks of any degree of complexity and respond before the hacker causes irreparable damage, and also learn how to use the most modern solutions to repel attacks.

New in State F
The layout of the cyber polygon, where the digital State F is located, has been completely updated. Now the six industry segments of the layout include the energy, oil and gas, transportation, finance, space, and urban ecosystem. The infrastructure of the updated polygon includes models of IT systems of various levels of complexity, recreating elements of the economy and industrial network of key industries in each state.

On Standoff 12, attacking teams will try to implement 140 possible negative scenarios. A significant part of the goals in the transport segment and in the housing and utilities system of the virtual country are completely new, and the space industry will appear on Standoff for the first time at all. The narrative of the battle itself will also change, which will be accompanied by special effects for maximum immersion in the atmosphere of cyber-adventure.

For the first time, the cyber-polygon will feature a space industry segment — the RUVDS server satellite: participants will gain control over an active spacecraft in conditions as close to reality as possible, using equipment identical to that used when sending commands from Earth to orbit.

"At Standoff, researchers check the security of companies without compromising the real infrastructure. The ability to hack a satellite takes Standoff to a new, I would say, cosmic level. I am sure that he will be a desirable target for all red teams. And the "blue" ones will get a clear idea of how hackers operate, " says Yaroslav Babin, product director of Standoff 365.

Participant teams
On Standoff 12, blue teams will once again be able to not only detect attacks, but also prevent them. At the same time, the arsenal of defenders will include key technological innovations of one of the leading developers of solutions and services in the market of effective cybersecurity — Positive Technologies.

In cyber training in November, the "blue" will face 20 teams of attackers, half of which are active participants in previous battles. There will also be more practicing teams of pentesters from various companies, and the rest will be selected by the organizers on a competitive basis.

Along with the traditional cyber battle, the Moscow Hacking Week, which will take place from November 18 to 26 at the new site, in the unique Cyberdome space, will host three more events for researchers and cybersecurity enthusiasts: the Standoff 101 conference and workshops for beginners, the Standoff Talks meetup round, and the Standoff Hacks closed event. where the best researchers will check the security of different companies.
