Lozovskaya District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region approved and sent to the court an indictment against a 31-year-old man on the fact of fraud committed by prior agreement by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a resident of Lozovaya, who had previously been repeatedly convicted of committing property crimes, again violated the law. The man, knowing about the great demand of the military and volunteers who provide assistance to Ukrainian servicemen, for cars to perform combat missions, decided to make money on this.
The attacker posted fake ads on the Internet about the sale of SUVs. In fact, he did not have any cars, as well as the intention to conclude a fair agreement.
When potential buyers responded to the fraudster's ad, his accomplice agreed with them on the details of the purchase and informed them about the need to make a prepayment. Immediately after crediting money to the card, the "seller" stopped contacting.
In total, 13 victims of the fraudster's actions were identified. All of them are Ukrainian servicemen. The total amount of material damage is almost UAH 1.2 million.
Now the man is in custody. The indictment against him will be considered in the Lozovsky City District Court of the Kharkiv region.
Investigative actions are continuing to establish the identity of the accused's accomplice.
Exposing and documenting illegal activities was carried out jointly with the Lozovsky RVP of the GUNP in the Kharkiv region.
The accused faces up to three years in prison.
