The Japanese game Aurory, created on the Solana blockchain, suffered from an exploit during which the attacker managed to withdraw 600,000 AURY tokens worth about $684,000.

The Aurory team said it first detected unusual activity on the trading platform. The investigation revealed that the SyncSpace bridge had been hacked, resulting in a significant loss of liquidity in Camelot's AURY-USDC pool. The exploit allowed the attacker to increase his AURY balance in SyncSpace and withdraw 600,000 AURY tokens to the Arbitrum network. The thief then sold all the stolen crypto assets.

To protect user funds, SyncSpace was immediately taken down for maintenance: deposits and withdrawals were temporarily suspended. Aurory assured that user funds were not affected and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were not at risk during the incident. The hacker obtained AURY tokens from a team wallet designed to withdraw funds from accounts that had not previously received AURY.

SyncSpace was audited a few months ago. However, Aurory will continue to investigate the cause of the incident and will also publish a detailed report on the results of the investigation after making the necessary corrections. SyncSpace is expected to be operational again in the coming days.

Since October 30, the price of AURY has shown significant growth, reaching an annual maximum of $1.9008 on December 12. However, after the recent hack, the AURY price fell to $1.0868, down 23.5% in the last 24 hours and 36.5% in the last week.
