The police uncovered the cunning plan of the would-be student.

Turkish law enforcement authorities have detained a university student accused of developing a sophisticated AI scheme to cheat on the TYT entrance exam. The incident occurred on June 8 in the southwestern province of Isparta.

TYT is Turkey's national university entrance examination, and cheating on this crucial test is considered a serious offence.

The student behaved suspiciously, which attracted the attention of law enforcement officers. After his arrest, he was arrested and sent to a pre-trial detention center pending trial.

According to police, the young man used a camera disguised as a shirt button, connected to AI software through a router (likely a cellular modem) hidden in the sole of his shoe. The system worked like this: a miniature camera read exam questions and then transmitted the information to an unnamed AI model. The software generated the correct answers and transmitted them to the student via an earpiece.

The video released by the Isparta police demonstrates the principle of the dishonest scheme: a police officer scans a question, and the program announces the correct answer to the earpiece.

In addition to the student himself, the police detained another person on suspicion of complicity in illegal actions during the exam. A mobile phone believed to be used for two-way voice communication was found in his possession.
