how does this "pin pad underlay" work?

doesn't POS systems have intrusion detection to prevent this?
if someone wanted to do one, what would they need? of course a pos to start with, but then?

Not all POS machines have protection that locks them when opened. Easiest way to capture dump and pin is to get a small portable commercial card reader like mini123 or something like that... Take it out of the case, and just solder to the head of POS... then create a device for pinpad... it can be a simple device that logs keystrokes... (with some electronics knowledge it can be done...). So you can attach devise to keypad board and when someone presses a button, you get a signal and the machine..

all models of pos and pinpads have tamper proof detection.. but also u can mapping all the circuit and found a way to close the sistem before u open it.
all u need is cirurgy to the machine..
also if u are more advance we have tamper proof tools to remove the message after u mod the device
