The company denies accusations of a zero-day vulnerability.

Over the weekend, there were rumors on the network that a zero-day vulnerability was discovered in the Signal messenger related to the "Generate Link Previews" function.

According to rumors, the vulnerability made it possible to capture devices and fix it by disabling the "Generate link preview" function in the Signal settings. However, the company said that it did not find any evidence of the existence of this vulnerability. Last night, Signal released a statement on Twitter*:

"After a thorough investigation, we have no reason to believe that this vulnerability is real, and no further information has been received through our official feedback channels."

"We also contacted representatives of the US government, as it is rumored that the authorities are the source of information about the vulnerability. Our government sources also do not have any information confirming this fact," the company said.

However, Signal encouraged anyone with new and "real" information about the vulnerability to contact their security team.
