The new feature will protect primary email accounts.
Experts from Android Authority have found in the new release 24.45.33 of Google Play Services code fragments with support for a feature called "Shielded Email".
This tool is likely designed to create disposable or restricted email aliases that redirect emails to the main account. Users will be able to disable redirects if spam is being sent, which will keep the primary address confidential. In addition to anti-spam protection, the feature is designed to reduce the risk of online tracking and minimize the consequences of data breaches.
The Shielded Email feature was also found in the autofill settings menu, but an attempt to navigate to the section leads to a redirect to a blank page myaccount.google.com.
It is not yet known whether temporary addresses will be unique for each case or there will be restrictions on their number.
