Artificial intelligence will now keep an eye on criminals in Telegram. The Russian company T.Hunter has updated the intelligent module Apparatus Sapiens, which appeared back in 2023. Now, with its help, you can find not only destructive content, but also its creators.

“It allows you to analyze the content published on the social network and find signs of a crime. At the next stage, the author of destructive and dangerous content is deanonymized. The program works thousands of times faster than Telegram analysts,” said Igor Beder, Director of the Investigations Department at T.Hunter.

At the same time, the author of the development, speaking about his brainchild, first of all mentions the increased arson of Russian military registration and enlistment offices, ATMs and police stations. At the same time, any phrases can be added to the list of keywords, but for AI, the emotional coloring of the message, its context, as well as other posts by the author and the person's connections with other users, their gender and region will be more important.

"With the help of the deanonymizer, you can find data on 58 million Telegram users linked to phone numbers. The system also monitors 22 million chats, which include both public communities and private chats, access to which involves clicking on a link and agreeing with the administrator. It is in them that the most interesting and potentially dangerous things are most often found," Bederov stated.

This deanonymizer makes it possible to find out the mobile phone number of the author of the message, his geolocation and connection data. Even if it is not possible to obtain exact information, it will be possible to download all the user's messages, change history and some other data that can be analyzed manually. After this, the information can be transferred to law enforcement agencies.

“What prevented Pavel Durov from implementing such a system? After all, if even a third-party organization managed to create such an effective product, imagine how much safer Telegram would have become if this task had been set for a team with direct access to the messenger’s capabilities,” State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin commented on the development.
