
Elon Musk and his artificial intelligence company xAI have expanded their presence in Memphis, Tennessee, purchasing a 1 million-square-foot site that will eventually house the world’s largest supercomputer.

The property, located in southwest Memphis, is the first step in a plan announced in June to expand xAI’s Colossus supercomputer. The city will host the supercomputer beginning Aug. 8, 2024.
🗞 The chamber said xAI has leased 552 acres of land in Memphis’ Frank C. Pidgeon Industrial Park to grow and expand its core operations in the coming years.
“xAI Takes a Location in Memphis”, the Greater Memphis Chamber wrote on its website Friday. The chamber also noted the company’s expansion at X and its
“focus on sustainability”.
