One book changed the fate of a participant in the storming of the Capitol.
The FBI has collected evidence against a suspect in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. His own book published on Amazon is used as evidence. The book helped to establish Thornsberry's motives and confirmed his participation in the assault.
The FBI claims that Nathan A. Thornsberry published his book, "January 6 Redux: A Patriot's Story," under the pseudonym "Nathaniel Matthews." The pseudonym was revealed thanks to a Facebook account that linked Thornsberry's real name to his nickname. Also, information obtained through requests to Facebook and Amazon confirmed the authorship of Thornsberry. Even though the book has been removed from Amazon, a page from an earlier version of the book is still available.
Books by "Nathaniel Matthews" on Amazon
Thornsberry is charged with six counts, including assaulting an officer, obstruction of law enforcement duties and disturbing public order in the Capitol building.
The book, originally released as a 103-page print edition, is now available only in electronic form. The annotation to the book claims that this is an eyewitness account of the events of January 6, 2021, as well as an attempt to challenge the official version of events presented by the media and politicians. The author shares his opinion on the reasons that prompted many protesters to gather at the Capitol and talks about his personal experience that day.
The FBI claims that in the book, Thornsberry details his motives for participating in the storming of the Capitol. In particular, Thornsberry says he feels a domestic threat that he believes threatens freedoms and the U.S. Constitution. Thornsberry claims that a "shadowy organization" has infiltrated various institutions of society, including schools, universities, intelligence agencies, and even elected officials.
The book also describes events directly related to the charges brought against Thornsberry. The FBI notes that his description of events does not coincide with the video recordings from the police body cameras. In the book, Thornsberry claims that he was forced to stand at a barrier to protect other protesters and was attacked by police, but video footage shows that he voluntarily advanced towards the police, which contradicts his claims.
Although January 6 Redux: A Patriot's Story is no longer available on Amazon, Thornsberry is the author of other works that can still be found on sale.
