In Vladivostok, employees of the Department for combating the illegal use of information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Primorsky Territory as a result of operational search measures stopped the illegal activities of five employees of a company providing cellular communication services.

As the police found out, the attackers, including four young men and one girl, used the operator's customer databases, without the knowledge of citizens, issued SIM cards in their names, which were then transferred to third parties for a monetary reward.

Among such buyers were two residents of Vladivostok who were previously detained by police officers and the regional Federal Security Service of Russia. With the help of special equipment, they committed acts aimed at illegally gaining access to the personal accounts of residents of different regions of Russia on the Gosuslugi portal. We reported on the capture of these suspects and the seizure of GSM gateways, SIM boxes and banks, routers, as well as 688 SIM cards at the end of April this year.

Currently, the Investigation Department for the Investigation of Crimes Committed on the territory of the Leninsky district, SU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok has initiated criminal cases against the detained employees of the telephone company under part 1 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. 11 system blocks and five mobile phones were seized, which, presumably, the defendants used in their illegal activities. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Primorsky Territory in the course of operational support of a previously initiated criminal case on illegal access to computer information, the defendants of which were five employees of a telephone company, caught another representative of a mobile operator in a similar crime. We reported on the detention of suspects who, without the knowledge of citizens, issued SIM cards in their names for further sale to third parties in mid-May 2024.

The new person involved in the investigation was a 32-year-old resident of Vladivostok. As operatives of the department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Primorsky police found out, he turned his machinations using copies of real subscribers ' passports, and sold mobile numbers registered to customers without their knowledge.

According to investigators, illegal SIM cards were later used by two residents of the regional capital to commit acts aimed at illegally gaining access to the personal accounts of residents of different regions of Russia on the Gosuslugi portal.

The new defendant has joined the list of unscrupulous employees of the telephone company, against whom criminal cases continue to be investigated on the grounds of a crime under Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
