Illegal activities of the prisoner were stopped and documented by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the State Police Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region, investigators of the police Department No. 3 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1 and employees of the operational department of the State Institution "Odessa Correctional Colony".
Law enforcement officers found out that a man convicted this year for providing illegal benefits to an official and fraud with the sale of mobile phones on the Internet network, established his previous "business" in the Odessa correctional colony. This time, the attacker placed an ad on one of the popular sites about the sale of paverbanks worth 1 thousand hryvnias, and when communicating with potential buyers, he asked to transfer a deposit of 300 hryvnias to him. Since the beginning of November, in this way, he deceived, and then blocked 13 residents of Odessa, from whom he received a total of 3900 hryvnias to a phone account.
Having lost contact with the seller and not waiting for the promised goods from him, citizens turned to law enforcement officers.
"During the search, the police seized a mobile phone with a SIM card and rough records with evidence of illegal activities from the convict. If there is sufficient evidence collected by law enforcement officers, investigators under the direction of the Malinovskaya District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa informed the defendant about suspicion of taking someone else's property by deception, that is, fraud committed repeatedly. For this offense, which is qualified under Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces a maximum penalty of up to three years ' imprisonment. Investigative actions are continuing," said Anastasia Chernenko, Deputy head of the SV Police Department No. 3 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1.
