In July — October, fraudsters stole 47 million rubles using the fake OnlyFans app, according to F. A. C. C. T. experts, whose words are quoted by Forbes. According to them, the share of theft by paying for a subscription on a fake service was about 66%.

From the end of June to the beginning of November, fraudsters made 5,497 write-offs from victims for 47 million rubles. The minimum amount of "subscription" was 830 rubles, and the maximum amount was 150 thousand rubles. Experts learn information about debits from specialized Telegram channels, where attackers share information about successful debits.

The Fake Date scam scheme, which has now been updated, works as follows: a "girl" comes to the user in private messages, disguised as a fraudster, and sends her candid photos to the victim. The rest of the materials of similar content are offered to the victim to see OnlyFans, while after the start of its service, the service works in Russia with restrictions.

Then the attackers offer the victim to install a special mobile application and throw off the link to the fake Google Play site. After downloading and installing it, "girl" asks you to pay for a subscription for a symbolic amount — 1 ruble or 1 dollar. In this way, attackers get the victim's bank card details, and the spyware built into the app intercepts incoming SMS codes. After that, the victim's account is emptied.

According to Evgeny Yegorov, a leading specialist in the Digital risk protection Department at F. A. C. C. T., the old schemes for selling movie or theater tickets are becoming outdated, which is why scammers have switched to OnlyFans. As of the current day, there are six groups operating under the Fake Date scheme in the Russian Federation.
