newbie question:what's different between 101 and t1

i'm a newbie,101=t1,201=t2 or it's different? and..i know pos only use track1,but do i need write random code?or just blank is ok.any good person can help me?thank u

Wrong on all sides.

A dump is composed from track 1 and 2. Track 2 is the important one, not t1.
And 101 and 201, among others, tell you if the card is with chip ( 201 ) or without, only with mag stripe ( 101 ).

101= card WITHOUT chip
201= card WITH chip
POS/ATM use ONLY track2
Track1= name of the cc holder+some code

201 is very new and hardly if ever used.

To be safe always make out a t1 andt2. You will see when you have to sign the receipt that it has the name from track1 most the time.
