The Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers (APPSIM) announced a new fraudulent scheme for substituting online payment forms. APPSIM, in its appeal to Rosfinmonitoring, reported about fraudulent transactions through P2P gateways of banks - services that process transactions between cards of individuals.

Rosfinmonitoring forwarded this information to Roskomnadzor and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and several banks have already confirmed the problem, the Kommersant newspaper reported.

The fraudulent scheme is as follows: the criminal creates a website for conducting paid surveys, after participating in which the user receives a link supposedly to receive a large prize. However, before receiving the money, the user needs to fill out several special forms and pay a small commission, specifying the details of his bank card. Thus, the funds are transferred to the cybercriminals' bank cards.

According to APPSIM, about 80% of transactions on fraudulent sites are carried out through P2P gateways of banks, and in 20% of cases, fake online stores are used. The problem may affect many Russian banks, but first of all - the Ministry of Bank and the All-Russian Regional Development Bank (RRDB), the appeal says. According to Igor Plotnikov, head of the information security department of the Ministry of Bank, they identify fraudulent sites and block access by IP addresses from such servers.
