The device's firmware allows you to interact with smartphones in an unusual way.
Recent software updates for Flipper Zero have caused a storm of discussion among users of the device on Android, iOS and Windows. Developers of the alternative Xtreme firmware offered Flipper Zero owners the opportunity to interact with surrounding smartphones and computers in a somewhat non-standard way.
Initially, the new firmware allowed you to "throw" iPhone and iPad owners with intrusive Bluetooth notifications, up to the complete blocking of Apple devices. This certainly caused smiles among Android users. However, more recently, the program's functionality has expanded, and now Android-based devices and Windows computers are also at risk.
To activate this feature, you need to install the developed version of the Xtreme firmware on Flipper Zero, after which you can launch the BLE Spam application. The program offers a choice of attack type depending on the target platform. To interact with Android devices, the "Android Device Pair" option is offered, which starts "throwing" smartphones within the range of Flipper Zero with pop-up windows of requests for creating a Bluetooth pair.

It is worth noting that this interaction does not lead to the execution of malicious code and is rather a type of DoS attack (Denial of Service, denial of Service), making it difficult to use the device normally due to constant pop-up windows. The trouble continues until Flipper Zero is out of Bluetooth range, or the user disconnects the connection.
The attack on Windows computers is less intrusive – only notifications are generated in the system tray when the Swift Pair function is activated. The only effective way to protect yourself from such troubles is to disable Bluetooth.
The situation with updates for Flipper Zero is a reminder of how important it is to monitor the security of your devices, and how easily technology can become a tool for unauthorized actions in the modern world.
