Chrome is armed with new security mechanisms.

Google has announced a new security system for the Chrome browser aimed at monitoring trackers that track user activity on third-party sites. Users will be able to activate the feature to enhance their privacy.

In the upcoming Chrome Canary update, there will be a feature called "Tracking Protection". Although the browser already has tools for blocking and controlling malicious files and trackers, Google plans to combine them in one place. How they will work together is still unknown.

On closed resources, this project has already received the name 3PCD. According to available information, the company is actively developing additional mechanisms for protecting and tracking third-party cookies.

New anti-tracking page in Chrome Canary

In the updated version of Chrome, users will be able to configure the security level on a specialized page. Despite incomplete testing, there are three known modes:
  • "Standard": designed for comprehensive protection and proper operation of all websites without restrictions. Cookie blocking is performed in easy mode, and most of the user's data remains available.
  • "Custom": allows you to individually control the level of checking and blocking cookies, which may affect the performance of some sites (some sites will not work, while others may be displayed with restrictions).
  • Do Not Track: Provides full access to user information, search queries, and uploaded data.

"Tracking Protection" isn't the only privacy improvement for Chrome users. Google also plans to add a more private incognito mode to the browser in the coming weeks.
