The Russian Federation currently leads the world rankings in terms of the total number of information security incidents. This was reported with reference to a Kaspersky Lab study by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for organizing the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies.

According to the Telegram channel of the said department, "Cyberpolice Bulletin", the average Russian user's risk of becoming a victim of cybercriminals and Internet scammers is currently at the level of 73-75 percent. Whereas before the coronavirus pandemic, this risk was approximately 30-35 percent. But over the past 3-4 years, a significant increase in this indicator has been recorded.

At the same time, Russia acts as the most attacked country in the world by hackers, since attacks are carried out not only by financially motivated cybercriminals, but also by politically motivated hacktivists who organize large-scale DDoS attacks aimed at various Russian organizations and enterprises from different industries, indicated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
