How Microsoft handles a massive crash.

Microsoft has proposed a solution to eliminate the massive failure of its systems, which began on Thursday and continued until Friday morning. The issue affected virtual machines running on Windows Client and Windows Server with the CrowdStrike Falcon agent installed. Because of this, the devices encountered an error (BSOD) and were stuck in reboot mode.

To fix the problem, users will need to repeatedly reboot their devices. Some customers reported that they needed to reboot their devices up to 15 times to restore their systems.

Microsoft also indicated that successful device recovery is possible after performing several VM restart operations. The Azure Portal, Azure CLI, or Azure Shell tools are available for troubleshooting.

The CEO of CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity company used by Microsoft, said that the reason for the failure lies in a defect in one of the updates for Windows. This is not related to a cyberattack or security incident. The problem was identified and fixed.

The failure affected various industries, from air transportation to banking services. The problem is caused by the CrowdStrike Falcon tool, which contains a corrupted file that leads systems to the "blue screen of death". To fix this, you must manually restart the device in safe mode and delete the problem file.

Microsoft apologizes for the inconvenience and continues to work to address the impact of the crash.
