MAking atm skimmer

Ok so I'm going to try and make my own atm skimmer,


i have used portable skimmer's before and understand if you take them apart you can make them flatter act by spreading the parts out and what not so here is my idea it may fail but we shall see


I'm going to purchase one of the following (After looking at the machine i want to skim)

ill then purchase a portable card reader most likely a minidx3

take it apart fit the parts behind the plastic cover (if a green one i will paint ect myself)

is this how most atm skimmers are made?

how easy is this to do? any advice is welcome

since reviewing and researching more i believe a msr008 may be a much better option
