can anyone tell me if there is a symbol or character string that can be encoded to trk2 to cause a pos machine to give an incorrect data read error on the terminal screen or an audible error tone? any help would be appreciated. thx

Why would you want to do this? Anyways you could put some random characters in there and it would cause error most likely.

i am not trying to cause error. i sometimes get dclines on cards that are valid. when i read card after trying purchase there is a trk read error on card. sooooo, when there is invalid info on card, is it being transmitted causing my dcline?

This may be a case of having a bad track 1 and using it on a pos that verifies it with bank(mostly in us) or simply not written properly. That is why it is better to have original track 1. You could also simply have an error that is not your fault also.

Please note, if you want to make a deal with this user, that it is blocked.
@taurus2011,
On the software you use to wright cards,
there is an option,Hi-co,Lo-co,change this,
cause maybe the blank cards you have take only track2,and if the magnetic stripe seems bigger then usual.

Change Hi-co,
or Lo-co,

and you will be fine,

@senshido,
you can wright anything you want on track1,
that has nothing to do with this creating an error.
always delete data on a card that you used before,
and add new data,

bless all,
mabrouka

Pretty sure most cards take track 1 and two many can take three tracks, and almost all blanks are hi co, the larger one can take three instead of two

If you want a weird error, get a dead dump and change expiration.

Are you using Jerm software to encode? Sometimes when you copy and paste your track info into Jerm you can accidentally transfer what I can only call a blank character.It used to cause me the same probs you are talking about. I would get a track 2 and after making track 1 and adding the six zeros at the very end of track1 I would hit the space bar and that blank space when copied and pasted into Jerm would cause an error that would kill dumps. Just remember to right click at the end of your track info and hit delete if your cursor isn't right next to the last number in the track you are pasting. Hope that helps

I was at a store once and when i swipe the card some random person name pops up. I was like what the fuck, I forgot to erase track1 and even though track1 and track2 were completely different it worked for $500.

Not all POS reads t1, in fact most don't.

If the pos reads error it usually requires clerk to type in the numbers. Most places will not type in numbers as that got burned years ago but there are still places that type in numbers. also, it is true that errors occur when copying and pasting. sometimes you will accidentally copy a blank space causing error. good encoding software will prevent this. PM for name of one.
